In the Local Churches He is Nearer and Dearer than He ever was beforeI came to the Lord six years ago when a believer in Christ invited me to a meeting in my hometown (Toa Alta, PR). I was a little nervous because I was Catholic and was not clear concerning a lot of things in the Bible. When I got there, my first thought was “who are these people?” They were enjoying the Lord by singing and praising Him. I was very impressed and touched with the sharing that night and deep within I knew that this was the church, not just another religion. That meeting won me for the Lord for the rest of my life. Now I have been meeting with the local churches for seven years and I have no regret. These have been the most wonderful years of my life. I feel nearer to the Lord now than I ever did before. I am learning to know Him in His word and with brothers and sisters. I am so satisfied that the Lord brought me to the local church. Meeting after meeting I receive the supply of the Lord and the Lord reveals Himself to me in an experiential way. He is nearer and dearer than He ever was before. I don't have to go and wander anywhere. I have found my home in the church, and I am full of joy and praises to the Lord for that. An Open Book The Bible was always a mystery for me. It was too hard for me to read and understand. So why would I read such a hard book? But when I received the Lord and touched Brother Witness Lee's ministry, the Bible became an open book for me. Thanks to this ministry the Bible is so enjoyable now. It is my spiritual food and supply everyday. Also the spiritual books by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have been very helpful in my spiritual growth. A quote that I will never forget goes like this, “Give yourself to love the Lord. No other way is so prevailing; no other way is so rich and so full of enjoyment. Just love Him. Do not care for anything else”(W. Lee). In many ways the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has been a blessing to me, causing me to love the Lord and His Word more and more. I would highly recommend it.
